Dear children of 2.3,
Have you enjoyed the past two years in Anderson Primary School? I have had fun teaching all of you, although you know sometimes I get frustrated when you make too much noise!!! When you go to your new classes, make sure you continue to behave well and respect your teachers and friends. And don't forget to greet me and wave your hands frantically (like you always do) when you see me on the corridors. Work hard but don't forget to have fun. Do me proud!
Thank you to all your parents too for their support and encouragement.
May God bless all of you.
Your truly,
Mr Yazid

The Singapore Spirit
Happy 43rd Birthday Singapore! I was lucky this year to get 4 tickets to watch the parade. The parade was spectacular and I felt proud being a Singaporean. People of all races, young and old coming together to celebrate the Singapore's independence.
I thank my lucky stars that I was born in Singapore. For me, the Singapore Spirit is about doing your best in everything you do. The Singapore Spirit is about having the passion in doing what you're doing. Only with passion, then you can excel!

Don't You Just Love Fairy Tales
Dear children
Wow! Some of you are really good at blogging and adding "elements" to your blogs. Videos, pictures, songs, virtual pets! I've had to learn how to add them to the class blog to keep up with you.
I know you are very excited but I hope you don't forget that one of the main reasons for blogging is for you to improve your English/ writing. So, do remember to start your sentences and proper nouns (e.g. names) with capital letters and end your sentences with a full-stop. Remember to check your spelling too. Before you post, you can use the spellcheck function - the icon with the ABC and a tick!
Our next theme for English is on Fairy Tales. Can you name some of the fairy tales that appear in the Youtube video here? Do you know that Disney fairy tales are sometimes different from the original fairy tales?
Cheers

Learning Journey to Changi Airport
Dear Children
Another week is over. I hope you have enjoyed your learning journey to the airport on Wednesday. I hope it has given you the opportunity to learn outside the classroom. Can you now name the different parts of the airport and also the types of occupations found at the airport?
I can see that some of you enjoy interviewing people. Maybe some of you would like to be a reporter, journalist or even a talk-show host when you grow up.
You have also taken some wonderful photos. Soon, I will be teaching you how to use Photostory software to make a short videoclip of your trip!
Changi Airport is important to Singapore because people and cargo move in and out of Changi Airport and this helps our economy - it helps keep Singapore prosperous.
As you know I wasn't particularly happy with your behaviour in public that day. I hope you would behave better the next time you go on a learning journey.

Mr Yazid is happy!
Hello again. The 4th week of Term III is over. I have to say I am proud of you. You didn't wait for me to teach you how to set up a blog and some of you have learnt to set one up yourself. It is good that you take the initiative to learn new things. I am of course here to guide you should you need help. Keep up the good work.
Next week we have two important things happening. On Monday, the school will be celebrating Racial Harmony Day. For a small country like Singapore, it is important that we help and work with each other even though we may be Chinese, Malays, Indians, Filipinos etc. This will ensure Singapore will remain peaceful and prosperous and a good place to live in.
On Wednesday, we're going to Changi Airport for our learning journey. Are you looking forward to it? Remember children, behave well in public. You represent Anderson Primary School!

The Class in Action!
These pictures are long overdue - it means that I should have shown the photos to you long ago!
Megan talked about her favourite website http://www.barbie.com
(Sorry Megan, your photo is blurry.)
Kai Yi shared his colourful sticker collection.
Jayron, what's the name of the character again?
Nicole played her keyboard skilfully after talking about playing it as her hobby.
Zhong Heng presented his collection of namecards to the class. He did not seem nervous at all even though the Principal, Mr Tan and a few headmasters (another term for "principals") from UK schools came to watch him.
Well done boys and girls!
Share your thoughts on how it feels like speaking in front of the class.

Golf Away!
This week the class started on its golf lessons. Keane has posted a comment below that it is not fun yet as the coaches have not let you use the balls yet. When you learn something you have got to be patient. They want use to be good at the basic techniques first before you can swing the ball effectively. Although I know some of you have learnt it before or are fast learners, when you learn something as a class, you must learn to be patient.
Keane also said he can't show his mum the photographs. Can others see it from your home computer?

Give your friends a "SHOUT OUT"!
Okay boys and girls, this is your first chance to say hello to your classmates through this blog.
Post your greetings to your friends! When you greet people, use phrases like
1. Hello!
2. Good evening! How are you?
3. Hi there!
Remember, before you post your message, make sure that you do not write anything that will hurt the other person's feelings. You won't like it if someone write bad things about you right?
Cheers,
Mr Yazid

Dear Children
Welcome to your class' blog. A blog is an online journal. In this blog, I will write about the things and events that are happening in our classroom and also outside the classroom.
I will try to make you think and reflect about some of the things that take place.
I also want to know what are your thoughts and your dreams.
Be good and stay happy!
Cheers,
Mr Yazid
